Junior Sucess

Youngmans Guns are pleased to announce the success of local young shooter Rosie Evans at the United Kingdom Association of Rimfire and Air Rifle Benchrest Shooting (UKBR22) 2009 National Championships held over the August Bank Holiday weekend at Portishead Rifle Club Somerset. Rosie became National Junior Champion in the flagship 50m .22 Unlimited weight class. This involves shooting a target with a 6mm bulls eye that has an additional 2mm X ring in the very center, which has to be completely obliterated, using a .22" (5.5mm) rimfire rifle at a distance of 50 meters. Each target has 25 aiming marks and one shot is fired at each aiming mark, the championship is shot over three targets, giving a maximum of 750 with 75 X's. Rosie scored a very creditable 709 with 15 X's in the tricky wind conditions. Rosie who is a member of North Walsham Rifle & Pistol Club has been shooting Air Rifle benchrest for about a year, Rosie was only able to start shooting the Rimfire events in May. The Nationals were Rosie's first ever open match, and aged just 12 she was the youngest competitor at the meeting.

Youngmans were pleased to supply all of Rosie's shooting equipment, and are proud to sponsor Rosie in her future shooting endeavors.

OI! Engineering

New Bi pod mounting system

Following on from the highly successful HW100 Magazine holder OI! Engineering have given us a preview of their latest project. An answer to the problem of fitting a bi pod to the BSA Ultra! The fore end of the ultra stock is so short that when a bi pod is fitted it is too far back and doesn't balance well. OI!'s new product is a replacement end cap for air tube. The new cap is screwed onto the end of the air tube the mounting unit then attaches to the cap. The mounting unit has a sling swivel stud fitted, to which a Harris or similar bi pod can be fitted. The pictures show the pre-production prototype in the development workshop. The production version, manufactured in aviation grade aluminum, will be available in a black hard anodized finnish to match the finnish of the air tube.

Although primarily designed for use on the BSA Ultra, this unit will also fit the Scorpion Carbine, T10 and the Hornet Rifle. These units are now avilable and cost £34.99 and are exclusively available from us. For enquires or to place an order phone us on 01493 859814
